Angelo Koenen Agenturen (AKA) was founded in 2015 by design adept Angelo Koenen. The team has many years of experience in the international world of interior-, bathroom-, kitchen- and project design.
AKA is the intermediary for some of the most prominent Italian design brands: Kartell, Wall&decò and Botteganove.
The collections of these brands include: tables, chairs, sofas, storage systems, outdoor furniture, lighting, interior accessories, ceramic tiles, mosaics, wallpaper, and rugs.
Innovation, sustainability, high quality, craftsmanship and authenticity are important core values that connect the AKA collections, as well as the collaboration with internationally renowned designers such as:
Patricia Urquiola, Phillippe Starck, Piero Lissoni, Rodolfo Dordoni, Ron Arad, Studiopepe, Vico Magistretti, Alberto Meda, Alessandro Mendini, Anna Castelli, Antonio Citterio, Christian Benini, Ettore Sottsass, Eva Germani, Fabio Novembre, Feruccio Laviani, Jean Nouvel, Joe Colombo, Lorenzo De Grandis en Marcel Wanders.
The team visits and informs retailers, project-designers and architects and gives training. Besides that, AKA offers support at events and several international fairs like IMM Cologne and Salone del Mobile.
The AKA team consists of Angelo and Veronique Koenen.
Angelo and Veronique met in 1996 while studying design at the Academy in Maastricht, where they were taught by various renowned designers such as Maurice Mentjens, Marcel Wanders, Richard Hutten and Hella Jongerius. In the years after their studies, a successful career followed for both, in which they gained a lot of experience in the world of interior design, product design and sales.
Angelo and Veronique are married and have three sons.
